Biography
Hosung Joo is a Ph.D. candidate (sing Sept 2019) in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH), with plans to address his thesis in the summer of 2026. He received his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Computer Science from KAIST in 2019. He subsequently earned his M.S. degree from the University of Science and Technology (UST), specializing in RF circuits and antenna design. Mr. Joo possesses significant industrial and research experience, having served as an Antenna Engineer at the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) from 2019 to 2021. His professional background also includes roles as an image processing engineer, data scientist, and android developer at various startups. His research interests center on integrated sensor applications, including radar and X-ray imaging, 3D meta-structure design (such as Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces), and AI-driven modern wireless communications.
